BSc Medical Microbiology

Microbiology is the study of unicellular, multi-cellular and acellular microorganisms and their respective impact and contribution to the environment. There are many fields in Microbiology which include the more applied disciplines such as Medical, Public Health, Industrial, Clinical Research, Agriculture, Nanotechnology, Chemical Technology and Food & Dairy Microbiology, Microbial Ecology, Physiology and Genetics are examples of basic fields. Increasingly, molecular and genomic methods for studying microbes are being used in Microbiology. The objective of our course is to produce intellectual and proficient microbiologists. The B.Sc Microbiology is a 3 year course with 6 semesters and the M.Sc Microbiology course is a 2 year course with 4 semesters with well verified and acknowledged facilities of the same specialization. Microbiology Syllabus trains the students to harness their theoretical knowledge and practical training in Microbiology.

DURATION OF THE COURSE :

Duration of BSc Medical Microbiology COURSE is 4 years and 6 months Internship.

ELIGIBILITY :

  • Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or Examinations recognized equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology separately and 50% marks in Physics Chemistry and Biology put together.
  • Candidates who have passed BSc degree (3 year course) Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or Biochemistry as main and any one or two of the above subjects as subsidiaries, with 50% marks for main and subsidiaries together, provided they have passed Higher Secondary Examination of Kerala or others recognized as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry & Biology as optional subjects.
  • Admission to the Course is also open to foreign nationals who possess the above educational qualifications.
  • Candidate should have completed 17 years of age prior to the joining of the Course.
